In Revelation Jesus has a promise for the church that empties itself of the “self” and becomes something in God:
“To the one who overcomes I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.”
Therefore, the throne of the church is not physical, it is not apparent, it has never been or will be politics, nor even social works that give the connotation of greatness to the church. The throne of the church is not evident to the world; The throne of the church is not the numerary of the IBGE.
The throne of the church is the throne of Jesus.
The question is: What is the path of this winner?
In the letter to Laodicea he gives the way to the throne, and the way to the throne is Jesus, being like Jesus, doing like Jesus:
“… Just as I also won…”
What path is this?
And what is this “as well as”?
Works?
No! No! No!
This path to the throne, in being like Jesus, overcoming as He overcame, Paul explains to us in Philippians, see:
““Have this mind in you which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.”
The way to the throne of the church is the way of emptying oneself. It is the way of self-humility (not self-pity). The way of being; without having to make oneself be. Being by being. Knowing who one is, a servant of God through obedience to God. Therefore, obedience to God is preceded by being humble;
And as incredible as it may seem, this is the path to humanization! Because God first became the figure of man to humble himself, because God inhabits sovereignty, being the One who Is.
On the one hand, Jesus, being God, had to become man to humble himself, overcome and sit on the throne.
The opposite of this is also true.
When men exalt themselves, it is the path to deification, believing themselves to be superior to men, and they cease to be people. It is the antinomy of the throne of God for the church; and this manifests itself in many guises; from powers on earth, believing that the church has some throne to sit on earth, to psycho-spiritual self-elevation without being humble, therefore, without God, even manifesting themselves as talents superior to men not “gifted” with such. It is the path of Lucifer.
The difference that comes with a subtle face, thinking that you can be a servant of God without being obedient to Him, when once you are obedient you are inhabited by humility;
Jesus has a place on the throne for you, don't exchange it for someone else.
