The turnaround of a big head.

And God granted Jabesh his request. Jabesh was a descendant of Judah.

He lives in a deeply insecure and uncertain period.

At a time when Peace was only conquered with one's own hands; Jabes, if that were not enough, already comes to the world in pain.

His mother did not have normal contractions; or, perhaps, the “passage” was not wide enough for the boy to pass through, or he really did have a huge head (lol – Maybe the combination of Genis, Julio, Jefferson and Douglas – all together and added together). The fact is that it hurt so much, that the mother, upon seeing her son alive and outside of her womb, picks up the child and gives him the name that she thought best portrayed what they had both experienced.

Jabes, bear the burden, be marked by pain. His own and those who should give joy.

Therefore, he asks God that his life be free from evil and the affliction that comes from it. In addition, Jabez also asks the Lord for growth that will not cause him anguish. And God granted what he asked for, in addition to affirming that Jabez had become more excellent than his brothers.

A man born in sorrows.

A man who knows that his life almost cost the life of his own mother.

A man who stands out from the rest for his serenity and dignity.

A man with a simple prayer: Father, deliver me from affliction. Father, deliver me from the evil day. Father, help me grow. Father, make me grow without such growth taking away my peace. Amen.

And God heard his prayer… Jabes got what he asked for, and grew up without harming himself and without having to pay the price of affliction to conquer new frontiers.

A man marked by pain, but who does not want to be accompanied by it.

A man marked by pain, but who does not want to be paralyzed by it. A man marked by pain, but who wants achievements in his life, but does not want to offer success a life of anguish in exchange.

Jabes… A man with ambitions…. A man in search of more space…

God… A God who sees the pain of a mother… A God who sees the traumatic mark of a boy born in pain… A God who used such marks in order to polish and illustrate a boy who would become a peace-loving man… A God who knew who that boy, later man, was: a dignified being, marked by the trauma of suffering, who does not wish to be shy in the face of life, but who recognizes himself as someone who would not bear to pay the price of affliction in order to achieve conquest.

A good and merciful God, who answered Jabesh's prayer.

Jabes… A prayer that asked for greatness, without lowering one’s self in life.

Jabes, the simple embodiment of a promise: God's blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow.

What marks Jabes's head?

Two commendable things in Jabes to be extremely considered:

  1. Born in sorrows, causing sorrows, bears the name of sorrows. But determine that your life will not be a life of pain.
    1. This has the principle of the Gospel in Jesus, because Jabesh is the one who is building his house on the rock.
  2. What is commendable is that he wants to be prosperous in everything in life. And to free himself from this pain. But they know that it is only worth it if he has PEACE. Free from evil.
    1. Various versions bring some terms… free from anguish, free from sadness, free from suffering, free from pain. Which can be summed up as Peace.
      1. Here is another biblical principle, as the psalmist said: God's blessings make rich, and he adds no sorrow with them.
