If there's one thing that has always been part of my routine – and maybe yours too – it's watching a good soap opera.
Whether it's Mexican dramas, classic Brazilian ones, or even more modern productions from other countries, soap operas have always had a special place in my heart (and on my television).
But with the rush of everyday life, I confess that I stopped following several stories halfway through... until I discovered the app FlickReels.
Yes, I know what you might be thinking: “Another video app?” But FlickReels is different.
And I'll tell you why – and how it became my favorite app for watching soap operas, quickies and short series in the time I have available.
What is FlickReels?
To begin with, let me give you some context: FlickReels is a free app, available for Android and iOS, that brings together soap operas, short series, and vertical videos with episodes lasting between 1 and 5 minutes. That's right!
These episodes are designed specifically for those who, like me, live in a rush but don't give up on good stories.
And the best part: it has a little bit of everything. Romance novels, thrillers, comedies, crime dramas... There are even some with a supernatural twist that kept me hooked from start to finish.

Why did FlickReels win me over?
I'll be honest: I didn't think much of it when I first downloaded the app. I was expecting another app with generic, boring videos.
But it was enough to watch two episodes of a soap opera called “My Boss, My Love” that I found myself completely addicted to. 😂
The formula is simple but addictive: the short episodes create such good hooks that you always want to see the next one.
And since everyone only has a few minutes, you can fit it in during your lunch break, on the subway, while waiting for an appointment... In other words, goodbye boredom.
FlickReels also has an intelligent recommendation system. It began to understand my tastes and suggest stories similar to the ones I liked.
These days, it feels like the app knows me better than some of my friends.
The most addictive soap operas I've watched on FlickReels
If you're just starting out, let me give you some tips on what's worth watching:
💘 My Boss, My Love
A mix of drama, comedy, and office romance. That classic "arrogant boss who ends up falling for his daring employee" story. Cliché? Yes. But the kind we love!
🔥 Fatal Inheritance
This one has suspense, family intrigue, secrets from the past... It reminded me a lot of Mexican soap operas on broadcast TV, only with a much faster pace.
🩺 Between Lives
This is one of those heart-wrenching shows. A medical drama with romance and ethical dilemmas. I actually cried in a few episodes (and I'm not easily moved).
Is it worth paying for premium content?
FlickReels works on a freemium model: you can watch a lot of stuff for free, but you also have the option to pay for in-app coins to unlock episodes faster or access exclusive series.
In my case, I ended up buying some coins because I was desperate to know the ending of a soap opera 😂.
But if you're patient, you can watch everything for free too – just wait for the unlock time.
An app tailor-made for our generation
One thing that really struck me was how FlickReels understands our time. We're always in a rush, with a thousand things to do, and stopping to watch a 40-minute episode isn't always feasible.
With this app, I've regained the pleasure of following a good story. And, even better, I've found a community of other fans on social media who are commenting on the same episodes as me.
It's like going back in time, when we used to comment on soap operas on Twitter, you know?
Enjoy the best the app has to offer
Since I started using FlickReels, the way I watch soap operas has completely changed. Now, I fit these short episodes into my routine and feel like I'm part of multiple stories at once.
It's a light, practical and fun way to relax – and best of all, right from your cell phone.
If you also love soap operas, but don't have time to watch everything on TV, I highly recommend giving soap operas a chance. FlickReels.
Download it, try one or two soap operas and then tell me what you think!
