That feeling of being watched…
You know that feeling when you feel like someone's following you from afar on social media? You post a story, it goes viral... but there are no likes or comments.
Then that doubt arises: who saw but left no trace?
I've always been a little curious—okay, maybe a lot. And after realizing that certain people knew too much about me without interacting with me, I felt the urge to dig deeper.
That's when I started my “virtual investigation”: I tested several apps that promise to show who sees your profile, mainly on Instagram and Facebook.
Some are nothing more than clickbait, but others really surprised me. Below, I share my journey (with complete honesty!) and the apps that worked best with me.
Why do we want to know so much who is spying on us?
Before talking about the apps, I need to open my heart here.
Deep down, everyone wants to know who is paying attention to our online lifeSometimes it's for safety. Other times, it's for vanity.
Or just out of pure curiosity—like that ex you swear is still secretly watching you. Spoiler: he probably is.
And discovering this became almost an addiction for me for a while. But it also brought some valuable lessons.
The Apps I Used to Try to Find Out Who Views My Profile
After downloading several apps and even falling into some traps, I've selected 5 that actually deliver something useful. They don't work miracles, but they help a lot.
1. Profile+ (Instagram and Facebook)
This was one of the most stable apps I tested. It analyzes followers, interactions, and shows a ranking of who follows your content the most.
- It has a modern and easy to understand look.
- Indicates who probably visited your profile.
- It also shows you who you follow but doesn't follow you back.

2. Follower Analyzer
A more comprehensive Instagram app. It focuses heavily on analyzing followers, likes, blocks, and engagement.
- Shows who interacts with you the most.
- Detects “ghost followers”.
- It also shows changes in the number of followers.

3. Followinsight (Instagram)
This one is more direct. It shows a profile analysis focusing on the "top stalkers"—always with the caveat that these are just assumptions based on interactions.
- Ideal for those who want something simple and quick.
- No excessive ads.
- It can be used for free with limitations.

4. XProfile (Instagram and Facebook)
Another comprehensive app that monitors followers, stories, likes, and potential visitors.
- Very visual and easy to interpret reports.
- Provides data on blocks and deletions.
- Provides tips on how to improve engagement.

5. SocialView (Instagram)
This app went viral for promising to show you who viewed your profile. While it doesn't access this data directly (because Instagram doesn't allow it), it attempts to predict this based on user behavior.
- Beautiful and modern interface.
- Gives alerts about lost and gained followers.
- There are paid versions with more details.

After all, do they really work?
The honest answer? It works to a certain extent.
These apps cannot directly access who viewed your profile, as neither Instagram nor Facebook release this type of data.
But based on the likes, story views, comments and other clues, they can deliver an interesting panorama.
And that, surprisingly, already helps a lot. Knowing who's been quietly enjoying themselves or interacting little tells you a lot.
And yes, that missing contact of yours might still be watching you secretly.
What I learned trying to “monitor” my stalkers
- Curiosity has its limits. The more you try to control, the more anxious you become.
- Not everyone who follows you, follows you. Many profiles are just numbers.
- Interaction is more important than visualization. Those who comment, like and chat are worth more than those who just “look from afar”.
And most importantly: who really cares will show up visibly. You don't need an app for that.
Final tips for safe use
- Never provide your real password in apps. Use Facebook/Google login whenever possible.
- Be wary of apps that promise to accurately “show all visitors.”
- Use it out of curiosity, but don't take it as absolute truth.
These apps are tools — not oracles.
Are these apps worth using?
If you're curious (or FBI-level curious like I was), it's worth it. But be mindful. They won't give you a magic list of spies, but they will open your eyes to who's really watching—at least through interactions.
My tip? Use it, explore, but don't get too attached. Life on social media is much more about expressing yourself than controlling who sees it.
If you enjoyed my experience, share it with a friend who is always saying: “I think someone is stalking me!”
